Victorian era sterling silver invalid feeder.

Invalid feeders were used from the 17th century until the 1930s to feed both invalids and infants when they were unable to feed themselves. A mixture called pap was made using bread, honey, and milk and used to feed the sick. Feeders such as these were also used to administer liquid medicines.
