Description / History:
Late twentieth to twenty–first century hip and should prosthesis. The collection consists of a fermoral head with fermoral stem and two humeral components. The lifespan of an implanted prosthesis is around ten years (on case to case basis). The first modern day total hip arthroplasty was done in the 1960s by Sir John Charmley.
