Description / History:
Small clear mouth–blown glass bottle with tan label that reads, "Caro–Peptine Comp./No.3". Manufactured by The Zemmer Company in Pittsburg, PA. According to its label, the remedy is "guaranteed... under Food and Drug Act, June 30, 1906".
The label explains, "Caro–peptine is a digestive ferment composed of the dried juice of Carica Papaya, combined with Pepsin, Pancreatin, Diastase, Charcoal, Sodium Bicarbonate and Aromatics". It was mainly given to children for indigestion.
