Scutellaria was made from the herb Scutellaria laterifolia, commonly called Skullcap, Blue Pimpernel, or Madweed. The scutellaria solution contained 30% alcohol, and may have been used as a sedative in the late 19th, and early 20th centuries. The liquid was distributed in a machine molded brown glass bottle with a bakalite twist cap.
