Sulfavitin was an ointment used for burns, scalds and cuts. Application was done directly to the skin, or with the use of sterile gauze. The ingredients included sulfathiazole and cod liver oil. The ointment was awarded a US patient (#19421104) in 1944, and was distributed in one pound brown glass jars with a white metal twist top
