Santonin was a drug used to expel parasitic worms from the body, by either killing or stunning them. The calomel then functioned as a cathartic to efficiently remove the parasitic worms from the digestive tract. The tablet forumation was comprised of Santonin (1/4 gr.) and Calomel (1/4 gr.) with a recommended dose of 1 to 4 tablets. The santonin and calomel tablets were distributed in a dark brown glass bottle with a cork stopper.
