This brass and black lacquered monocular compound microscope was patented in 1915 and created by Bausch and Lomb Optical Co. of Rodchester, NY. The patent created by William L. Patterson was designed to improve fine adjustment on microscope. This new design contained an adjustable body instead of the standard body height. The serial number (178,928) indicates it was produced in 1924. The microscope was sold by Arthur Thomas Co. in Philadelphia, PA
