Description / History:
This very small brass scale comes with a small case and various weights. Nothing is labeled including measurements of weights. This style of scale was often used to measure several ounces of gold dust. Because of the style, it was likely used in the early to mid 1800s when the California Gold Rush was taking place. Although its original purpose was for gold, it can measure other things as well and would have been very beneficial in a pharmacy.
There are no manufacturer's marks on the scale so the manufacturer remains unknown.
