Description / History:
The following collection contains a selection of twentieth century breast feeding material.
A. A metal box of Sprenger's Sterililzed Barley made by Sprenger Food Co. and a glass jar of Eskay's albumenized food made by Smith, Kline & French Co., both products are infant formula. Baby formula is intended as food for infants in place of human milk. Due to technology, there are a variety of infant formulas out there depending on the baby's dietary needs; milk based formula, animal or vegetable fat based formula, and non–milk based formulas.
B. A milk tester.
C. There are eight nipples that are brown and black in color.
D. A small bottle with an attached silicone nipple. The bottle holds up to two teaspoons.
E. There is a nipple shield.
F. One box of bottle caps which contains three caps. The color of the bottle cap color is brown and it is made out of rubber. This product is made by Davol Rubber Company.
G. Binky's bottle caps (two in one box) made by Eagle Druggists Supply Co., Inc.
H. Lastly, a collection of silicone nipples. There are thirteen nipples in total; ten of which are made by Davol Rubber Company.
