19th century white ceramic medicine jar labeled Ceratostigma Plumbaginoides.

Also known as leadwort, ceratostigma plumbaginoides were used in the 19th century, and by some modern herbalists, for the treatment of ringworm and cancer.

Today, while some herbalists use ceratostigma plumbaginoides for medicinal purposes, scientists report there is no evidence to indicating that the plant can control, cure, or prevent any type of disease or cancer.
