Description / History:
This collection contains five, small amber bottles. Each bottle comes with its own unique label that has a printed name of the contents that were once in the bottle and is complete with a gold and red border and gold design. All the bottles are empty, but have some twine at the top of the bottle holding the lid in place. Below is a brief description about each bottle and the contents that were once in it.
Bottle A: Bottle A contains a label reading "Ammon. Chlorid," the abbreviation for ammonium chloride. Ammonium chloride is an active ingredient in cough medicine. It is an expectorant, clearing mucus from the throat.
Bottle B: Bottle B contains a label reading "Ammon. Chlorid," the abbreviation for ammonium chloride. Ammonium chloride is an active ingredient in cough medicine. It is an expectorant, clearing mucus from the throat.
Bottle C: Bottle C contains a label reading "Pot. Iodid," the abbreviation for potassium iodide. Potassium iodide is an expectorant and works to clear mucus from airways.
Bottle D: Bottle D contains a label reading "Phenyl. Salicyl," the abbreviation for phenyl salicylate. Phenyl Salicylate was originally used to treat diarrhea and fevers. Today it is used as an ingredient in medication helping to lower inflammation of the lower urinary track.
Bottle E: Bottle E contains no label.
