Tincture of Valerian is an herbal remedy derived from the dried roots of the valerian plant. It has been used for over 1000 years as a mild sedative and hypnotic. Valerian remains one of the fastest growing herbal remedies in the United States.

Valerian is most commonly used to relieve mild cases of anxiety and insomnia. During World War I it was given to soldiers suffering from battle shock.
