19th century White ceramic medicine jar labeled Convallaria Majalis.

Also known as Lily of the Valley, convallaria majalis, although highly toxic, was used as a diaretic and cardiotonic used to treat dropsy and cardiac dropsy in the 18th and 19th centuries.

All parts of the convallaria Majalis plant are poisonous, causing abdominal pain, vomiting, and reduced heart rate with even a small amount of ingestion.
