Description / History:
Clear square glass bottle with glass stopper labeled Ammon Chlorid. Label is white with gold trim affixed to bottle with a thin layer of glass.

During the 18th century, ammonium chloride was used in pyrotechnics but was later replaced by safer chemicals. It created a more enhanced green and blue in the flames.

During the 19th century, ammonium chloride was used as an expectorant in cough medicine. The chemichal caused and irritation in the bronchial mucosa, producing an excess of fluid, which doctors assumed was easier to cough up.
