Small 19th century clear mold blown glass jar with glass stopper labelet Copper Citrate. Contents is a green powder substance.

In the 19th century, it was noticed that copper workers did not contract cholera in the 1932 and later epidemics. The use of copper in medicine became popular in the 19th and early 20th centuries until antibiotic use became widespread.

Medicines with copper were used in the treatment of exzema, impetigo syphilis, anemia, chorea, facial meuralgia, tuburcular diseases and lupus.
