Description / History:
Late19th century to early 20th century bottle of antiseptic tablets. Brown mold blown glass with cork stopper. Sides of bottle is embossed with the word POISON with raised ridges on the corners of the bottle. The ridges were placed on the bottle so that anyone quickly picking up the bottle would know that it contained poison. This style of bottle was used by Parke Davis Drug Company as a generic poison bottle. This bottle is labeled ANTISEPTIC TABLETS with instructions for dosage and the antidote if taken internally. According to the instructions, the tablets were dissolved in water and used as an antiseptic during surgery.
