Description / History:
German made Carl Zeiss black enamel finished binocular microscope with several Carl Zeiss oculars in wooden case. It is the Standard model which became one of the most successful models in the history of Carl Zeiss. There is also a German made Zeiss–Winkel transformator attached that can be plugged into an outlet. This microscope contains a light bulb holder in the base, coarse, fine, and condenser focus knobs, a slide holder, and four rotating objectives of magnitudes 2.5x, 10x, 40x, and 100x.

Additional Information:
Manufactured between 1950 and 1958, this microscope was purchased in Germany by Dr. Nikitas Zervanos in 1958 while a freshman at University of Pennsylvania Medical School and used throughout his medical school career.
