Description / History:
This large, glass enclosed, white metal frame scale was produced by The Torsion Balance Co. out of New York. Although there is a style of torsion scale measuring gravitational forces by using a wire, in this case, torsion refers to a a scale with two equal arms that uses horizontal steel bands instead of pivots. This scale has a weight capacity of 10 pounds. It is style 253 and No. B67016.
