Description / History:
This brass bodied scale is complete with a wooden base including a drawer that holds a weight, a tin, and parts to the scale. It has two sets of trays – one smaller set and one bigger set. The tin is engraved with the words " American Watch Co Waltham" and includes a patented date of Aug 27, 1895. This tin was probably a case for small watch parts, or as a manufacturer of precision instruments, may have held weights for the scale. Since the scale has no other indication of year manufactured or used, it is likely that it was used in the same time frame indicated on the watch company tin.
