In this twentieth centurycollection there are non–boiled eithcon sutures for circumcision, umbilical tape, and a pack of wax ampoules silver nitrate. Inside the ethicon box there two glass containers, each container hold a 3/8th circle atraloc cutting point needle attached to a thread. The tubing fluid has isopropyl alcohol, dosium nitrite, phenyl mercuric benzoate, and water. This product was manufactured by Johnson and Johnson. The umbilical tape is enclosed inside a glass jar with a metal screw on cap. The tape is 100 yards long. It was manufactured by N.Y.T. Corporation. The wax ampoules silver nitrate with one percent soluation is made from Day Chemical Company; it is used for the treatment of ophthalmia neonatorum. Ophthalamia neonatorum (neonatal conjunctivitis) is a form of optical contamination contracted by newborns from mothers who are infected with viral or bacteria infection (such as Chlamydia trachomatis or Neisseria gonorrhoeae) during their passage through the birth canal.
