Late 19th century to early 20th century jar for storage of bulk medicinal products. Clear mold blown glass with glass lid, rubber ring, and wire fastener.
label reads ALLSPICE and is from the Lancaster Drug Co, Wholesale Druggist, Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
Jar is approximately one third full.
Allspice was used in the treatment of flatulence, diarrhrea, syspepsia, neuralgia and rheumatism. It possesses stimulant, tonic, purgative, digestive and carminative properties
