Description / History:
This very small, mid–late 19th century, apothecary scale includes brass trays, weights and holder. It also comes with a wooden carrying case. This pocket sized portable scale could be taken wherever it was needed, and could be used by physicians as well as pharmacists on house calls. The only labeled weight reads 500 mg.
As shown in the photo, the brass stand fits into a small hole in the top of the wooden carrying case, allowing the scale and trays to be suspended for weighing.
