Description / History:
This brass pharmacy scale is complete with a wooden base including a drawer that holds two boxes with weights. One box is wooden and has indents to hold weights. The other box is a tin that used to hold medicine to help relieve pain during menstruation (Apioline) and now holds various sized weights. This set includes no indication of date, however the style of the wooden base with brass body indicates late 19th to early 20th century.
There are no manufacturer's marks on the scale so the manufacturer remains unknown
